The Stacey H.S. Eagles Varsity Basketball Team played the host team, the Marion Bulldogs, in the final game of the 2014 Marion Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament . A win for the Dogs would’ve given them the title outright.

The Bulldogs would get off to a slow start in the first quarter. The Bulldogs offense continued to struggle to find consistent offense to only lead in the game 20-19 as we hit halftime. The 3rd quarter would be a different story as the Eagles turned things around to take the lead to 29-25 as we headed to the 4th quarter. Stacey closed it out in the 4th as they outscored the Marion Bulldogs to win the game 41-36 and to win the tournament.

All-Tournament selections for the Marion Bulldogs would be Jose Sanchez and Camden Wilson.

Leading in scoring for the Bulldogs would be:

Logan Pogue: 17 points and 13 rebounds

Camden Wilson: 9 points and 9 rebounds

The Marion Bulldogs now will focus on preparing to take on the Boerne Greyhounds. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2014 at Marion H.S.
